How to clean a rug?

For traditional rugs, cleaning is a headache, but with the development of technology, TTelephant has brought machine washable rugs to you, will help you deal with the mess easily! We make the steps below to help you clean rugs.

Spot Clean

  • For liquids, just wipe them away with a towel.
  • For stains, blot them immediately with a wet towel or a sponge.
  • Spray the area with a spot cleaner and continue to blot with a towel.
  • If spot cleaning doesn't fully resolve the issue, we recommend machine washing the rug.

Machine Clean

  • Put your rug in the washing machine with the design facing outward.
  • Add a mild, non-bleach detergent. Do not use fabric softener.
  • Use cold water and your washer’s delicate cycle.
  • Put your rug in the dryer with the design facing outward. Set your dryer to the low heat. (Alternatively, hang dry.)

Vacuum Clean

  • Use low suction/low power and high pile height settings.
  • Turn off the beater bar.(Disable/remove the brush)
  • Press the corners to prevent the rug get sucked in.
  • Avoid vacuuming the sewn edges.
  • If there are loose thread ends, not pull strings, clip edges with a scissor.
  • If you want to use a robot vacuum, please avoid vacuum the edges and corners of your rug.
  • We also recommend periodically vacuuming or sweeping under your rug.
